Members Present: Heidi Panter, Kathy Nyland, Adrien Webb, Adrian Wolfgramm, Tara Smith, Shauna Wright, Jenny Stubbs, Tara McLay, Dr. Sorensen

Introduction of Board and Theme: “Always Moving Forward”
Principal Moment: Dr. Sorensen
-Manila is FULL! Undo split in 4th and 5th grade.
-Put on blog that everyone has to go in and sign for internet usage to skyward.
-New student gmail accounts. To be closed to all outsiders.
PTA Teacher Rep: Ashley Myntti
BUSINESS:
Leadership VP: Jenny Stubbs- Approved bylaws and standing laws at General PTA meeting (mission statement pictures)
Heidi wants everyone to write up a paragraph of what their job is on the PTA board and email to Jenny Stubbs@yahoo.com
Budget: Adrien Webb: Each committee head needs to meet with her to discuss budget. Sign paper to not embezzle money from PTA.
Membership: Adrian Wolfgramm – Chick-fil-a sponsorship they are donating free sandwiches. Still moving forward with Elmers glue return $44, Capri sun $31, Coke can still doing this.
-Do we want to raise PTA membership? Maybe next year.
-What would we lose if we stop belonging to PTA?
Public Relations: Blog (manilapta.blogspot.com), Facebook Page (Kim Sparks), Marquee (Melissa Karren), Janey Merrill – Newsletter Dates. No signs on the fences cause its illegal.
Room Mom’s Tea: Sandy Call – September 18 at 4:00 pm.
-Teachers want to make their own sign ups but they will give PTA a copy. Keep it short.
-Put all flyers in the teachers boxes.
Reflections: Jodie Larson – Theme: “ The Magic of a Moment” Due Oct. 26th…going to change date from Oct. 31st.
-Do presentation at Stand and Shout on Sept.24 at 9:30 am.
-They gave us Owl game tickets for Oct. 30th so we need to give them out.
Manila Mini Marathon: September 28th at 5:30, Expo at 4:30, Food Vendors and other venders. Named for someone: Scouts do opening flag ceremony.
- We will have three food vendors.
- Question about the banners on the fences is it illegal? Vendor advertising?
- If vendors sell they get a tax exempt number.
- Committee meeting right after pta board meeting
- PTA is going to sell snow cones at the fun run.
Vision Screening: Sept. 10 at 9:15 am (need 22 volunteers) Shauna Wright is going to head this up.
OPEN HOUSE & BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT:
Who needs a sign up at the PTA table?
Need Volunteers at tables 30 minutes shifts: Open House – 2-3
Back to school – 6 – 8 Tara McLay
Tables: Volunteer sign up, Membership, T Shirts, Mini Marathon
Speaking at Open House: Budget – Adrien Webb (who has overhead projector and screen?) Membership – Adrian Wolfgramm, Mini Marathon – Heidi Panter
Open house – just meet the teachers and art project at back to school. General PTA meeting then meet with the teachers.
-Should we do Ziploc bags with emergency food for kids and have parents do it? Keep them accessible with contact information.
-Kami Baird went to Disney World for her make a wish. Do we want her to come and report to the kids?
-Melissa to have a sample T shirt at back to school night and open house. No hats. Yes we are doing sleeves. Car decals were too big.

Manila Elementary School Gym
Members Present: Manila Parents, Teachers and Staff
Welcome: Dr. Sorensen – Introduced Teachers and presented focus at Manila this year.
-Archery is new at the school this year.
-Kindles are coming.
-8 volunteers are needed for double dosing help in computer lab.
-The new community council members are: Cheryl Williams, Jen Bischoff, Jen Packer, Heidi Panter.
Heidi Panter – Introduced PTA and Mini Marathon fundraiser. Talked about the new Manila Elementary Blog. We are doing Spirit days and shirts.
Treasurer’s Report: Adrien Webb – Presented budget
Adrien Webb motioned to accept
Everyone seconded
Budget was Approved
Adrian Wolfgram: Discussed misc. money for the school programs that she is doing….Coke, Box Tops, Maceys, Smiths,Elmers Glue, Capri Sun.
